Elavon

Elavon is a payment processing service provider for transaction processing in 16 global markets including Australia, Japan, Singapore, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Czech, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Switzerland, Eurozone countries, United Kingdom, United States, and Hong Kong.

The Elavon payment system addon for Shopp integrates with the Elavon VirtualMerchant payment processing platform. The addon provides a seamless onsite checkout experience where the customer stays on your website throughout the checkout process.

Getting Started

Before you can use the VirtualMerchant platform with the Elavon add-on for Shopp, you will need an acocunt setup by Elavon’s system administrators. If you have not already had your account created, you can contact Elavon customer service at 1-866-451-4007, option 2.

Web Hosting Setup

Since the Elavon payment gateway for Shopp uses an onsite checkout process, sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) may be entered on your website. In order to protect your customer’s information your website’s hosting service will need SSL Setup & Certificates.

Installation

  • Uncompress the add-on files
  • Upload the folder (directory) and all its contents to your Shopp add-ons folder (directory) under: .../wp-content/shopp-addons

Settings

When your Elavon account is approved and successfully set up, you will need to have your Account ID, User ID and PIN ready and available.

To setup Shopp to use Elavon, login to your website’s WordPress Admin and navigate to ShoppSetupPayments.

  • Payment Gateway
    Select Elavon from the Payment Gateway menu and click the Add Payment Option button.
  • Option Name
    Enter a custom label for the payment option as you would like it to appear on your store front (such as Credit Card)
  • Supported Cards
    Select the payment cards your site will accept for processing
  • Account ID
    Enter your Elavon Account ID provided by Elavon’s customer service.
  • User ID
    Enter your Elavon User ID provided by Elavon’s customer service.
  • PIN
    Enter the PIN for your Elavon account.
  • Enable test mode
    You can enable this option to switch to the VirtualMerchant demo system to test transaction processing. The demo system will not move and real money between accounts and should be used while developing or testing the website.

Click the Save Changes button to save your settings.
