Live Mode and Testing
Stripe accounts have split personalities. One of is used for testing and the other runs real payments for your website. Before you successfully activate your account, your account can only communicate with Stripe in a test mode. Aside from actually charging a credit card (moving money), all of Stripe’s features are available in test mode.
Activating your Stripe Account
To activate your account, you will need to submit an account application. The account application is pretty easy. Fill out a form with some basic information about your product or business and your relationship to your business. As soon as you submit the application, your account will switch to the live mode to charge real credit cards. Once you apply, you should also update your Shopp settings to use the Live Secret Key associated with your account.
