Troubleshooting

There is no one solution to this issue as it can be from a number of different problems. The best way to troubleshoot the problem is to eliminate the possibilities one-by-one starting at the end-points of communication, your web server and the Shopp activation key server.

  • Verify that your web server can make connections to other servers using ping tools available to you
  • Verify that you can reach the key activation server at https://shopplugin.net/ (if shopplugin.net is responding, the key server is active)
  • Contact Shopp customer service to determine if the activation server is down for maintenance.
  • Contact your web hosting provider to ask if communication from your server to shopplugin.net is being blocked by a firewall configuration on your server or on the web hosting provider’s network
  • Contact your web hosting provider and ask if there are any known routing issues to their upstream provider
