Shopp gateway add-ons are not WordPress plugins. They cannot be installed through the WordPress Plugins interface within the WordPress admin. Gateway add-ons for Shopp need to be added to the gateway subfolder within the Shopp plugin folder.

Shopp gateway add-ons can be downloaded by clicking on the link provided in the receipt sent to your email after purchase. Alternatively, you can download add-ons from your Shopp Store Account.

We recommend beginning by taking a look at the documentation page for your gateway add-on. You’ll have a chance to review how to register an account, installation instructions, and view other helpful information.

Installation Overview for Shopp Gateway Add-ons

  1. Download the gateway add-on to your computer. Unzip the file.
  2. Connect to your website via an SFTP / FTP client such as FileZilla, Cyberduck, or Transmit.
  3. Browse to the wp-content folder: /wp-content
  4. Now create a new folder called shopp-addons within the wp-content folder like so: /wp-content/shopp-addons
  5. Transfer your Shopp gateway add-on from your computer to the shopp-addons folder.
  6. Log in to your WordPress admin. Go to Shopp SystemPayments.
  7. Click on the dropdown menu and select your gateway add-on. Enter a name for your payment method, select options that you want to offer (if applicable) and enter your credentials for your service. Then Save Changes.


Certain gateways add-ons require some extra configuration. For example, (gateway add-on in our example) requires an SSL certificate to secure the sensitive financial information.
